In this clip, I've shown you the way to boost your searching process to find all most every game asset.
Search for files by their type, For eg.: In the search box type t: colon, file type, and the name of the file.
By doing this you can get the required asset in the easiest way possible.
The same thing applies while searching in the hierarchy.

Here are some other possible types:
For Project Tab:
Object
Shader
Material
Texture
Font
Flare
Cubemap
Sprite
NormalMap
Scene
Animation

For Hierarchy:
Terrain
Model
Collider
Renderer
Light
Terrain
GameObject
