TEXRail Opening Day

Описание к видео TEXRail Opening Day

It's open!
13 years after coming into existence by the Fort Worth Trasnportation Authority, now Trinity Metro, TEXRail is carrying passengers on a 27 mile line between DFW Airport and downtown Fort Worth. Utilizing eight Stadler FLIRTS, the trains will travel hourly each way carrying passengers nearly 24 hours a day. In the future service during rush hour will be increased to every half hour whenever the final three trainsets arrive in Fort Worth. The trains travel along the old Cotton Belt line as far as North Fort Worth and then curve south following the Union Pacific into downtown Fort Worth where it joins the TRE for the final two stations. The entire line was upgraded with concrete ties and new ribbon rail for train speeds up to 70 MPH versus the 25 MPH limit of the old track. Over the next couple of months I hope to highlight various locations along the line that are unique or that would be overlooked.
Thank you for watching!
