Body off frame, rotisserie restored. Underneath is as beautiful as the top. This gorgeous retractable has the big 352 motor, power steering and brakes which make it a pleasure to drive. Best of both worlds- a convertible that seals up luke a hardtop! The hideaway hardtop was a unique feature only offered by Ford on their Fairlane model only. It is a mechanical marvel, people enjoy watching it function. It is all automatic. It opens, folds, raises, lowers and even screws to the windshield frame with 1 switch!

EXTERIOR: It's a stunning combination of colors you don't see too often. Clean North Carolina car, the body is laser straight with no rust or damage. The panels fit square and flush. The paint is polished smooth and glossy. It looks like all of the chrome and the trim has been replaced or restored. Even the gold analyzed inserts on the sides, chrome vent window frames, trim around the windshield were replaced. New windshield, window seals and weatherstrips. The rims are painted, reproduction hubcaps and BFG Silvertown whitewalls. The retractable top lowers into the trunk. When it's up you have the same benefits are being in a hardtop.

INTERIOR: It is restored to original condition. New carpet down on the floor, reupholstered seats in the proper materials, reproduction door panels. New optional padded dash. New instruments, chrome trim on the dash and glovebox liner. Interior light works. The metal trim was painted gloss black.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine compartment looks like it's been completely restored. At the heart of it is a 352 Interceptor motor with a 4 barrel carb. It's clean as a whistle. Correct manifolds, air cleaner, valve covers etc. The components look new or restored. It features power steering. The metal surfaces are painted very nicely.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is finished very nicely. Nice metal painted yellow. New gray and white plaid liner kit. This is the home for the hardtop and there is a tub in the middle to use as trunk space.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame and under this car looks new. Clean metal floors, braces and rockers. The underbody is so clean they painted it the same color as the car. The chassis was detailed in gloss black. The entire suspension front and back was rebuilt. The steering was completely rebuilt, power steering control valve was replaced. The brake system was rebuilt, e-brake assembly is hooked up. It has a correct dual exhaust, the mufflers even say FoMoCo! Fuel system was restored. Bottom of the motor is spotless, starter looks fresh. The Ford-o-matic trans looks very fresh. Rebuilt driveshaft. The rear end was apart and restored.

These days this restoration would easily cost $100,000! It's stunning looks, high quality and "Transformers" retractable top really makes a statement.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.
