This was built by Ted Newman Jones who was the guitar tech for Keith Richards from 1972 to 1979. This is the Keith Richards Model built in 1979, neck through Walnut. I have a letter from Ted sent from TX where he said it was built at the same time as Tom Petty (heart inlays) and Bob Dylans (crosses). Mine has mushroom inlays, strong V neck 7.5 lbs and 3 piece abolone N at the headstock for the early logo. Most were 6 in line tuner headstocks, but some of the early ones and ones made for clients had 3 and 3. It was purchased at Arlington Guitar show and restored to original type EMG's single coils in a humbucker housing. It was sold from an estate sale of a musician in Austin to the dealer. Ted Newman Jones III is known for rock history such as working on the bracing for Willie's Martin, building guitars for the stars before it was an option, selling Clapton the 6 strats which morphed into Blackie and of course, making Keith happy. I think he even sold McCawber for Keith when his collection was stolen around 1971. Bad video but rare chance to see something that is rarest and a holy grail to rock and roll. I will post the sound if this makes enough noise to be heard. I posted this because they are too rare and this is the only one I have seen public for sale.
