Sometimes I write songs in 20 minutes, but "Bye Bye" was written over a period of six months: In the spring of 2025, I arrived at Stuttgart's main train station long after midnight on a delayed train from Vienna where I've listened to Bob Dylan's 21st century music for hours. As I walked from the station into the park, the chorus came to me, and I sang it into my phone. A few days later, the first verse came to mind while hiking near Bad Urach. Then I didn't think about the song again, but in the early summer in Arcos de la Frontera, more rhymes spontaneously came to me, for example, „desperate pleasures in the sink / I signed my will with poisoned ink.“ In October, I had to pee in Stuttgart but didn't have any coins with me. Now I had a bridge. The last verse came to me in November on a plane to Cape Town when I remembered New York. Now I had a song that I had never planned, and I am very grateful to everyone who helped me bring it to life in sound and image.
