Most people think of the lighting of The Olympic Flame in a large stadium or arena where The Games will actually be held. However, there is a ceremony to initiate The Flame itself, which occurs in Olympia, Greece, where The Games originate.
Here we see the reflective dish that captures concentrated sunlight to begin burning of The Flame for it's long journey to the destination host, in this case Atlanta 1996.
This was recorded from the end of TVA's Saturday night sportscast, just prior to the evening's Loto Quebec draws broadcast, and includes a TVA station ID bumper.
