EDIT: I came back later and he was gone. Some of the machine sites in the game seem to change as the story progresses. I will likely try to come up with another "easy farming" method for Scorchers.

This felt hard enough to be worth uploading. These guys were tough in Frozen Wilds, and are still a big pain here because of their speed, aggression, and range. The big rock formation here helps a ton, and the Scorcher here spawns alone. Sometimes an Apex Scorcher will spawn instead. If that happens, just reload and try again.

It's worth noting if you're just here for his Scanning Ears, they can be removed pretty easily with a single Tearblast arrow. I would suggest farming one from stealth, and don't get greedy. Leave the other ear alone and just make your way to a save point or, better yet, use an instant Fast Travel pack after you grab it.

Ideally I'd like to make a video like this for all of the nastiest machines, but I doubt I'll get around to it. A lot of the fights are really boring and ugly, anyway, much like this one, and don't make for great videos overall.
