What Is A Cartomizer? Clearomizer? Atomizer? [A SIMPLE EXPLANATION]

I remember back when I first discovered e-cigarettes I began to do a tonne of research on all sorts of different devices but I still struggled at first to really understand what some of the ‘vaping lingo’ that I was reading around the web actually meant.

And one of the biggest things that I remember not being able to find a decent and easy-to-understand guide about was exactly what the hell was the difference between cartomizer vs atomizer vs clearomizers tanks.

And since I’ve started to get this question a few times on my channel from newer vapers too I’ve decided to make this short and simple video that answer the following questions: what is a cartomizer, what is a clearomizer and what is an atomizer!?

The short version of it though is this:

A cartomizer is a metal plastic tubing with poly-fil inside of it as well as a heating coil and a wick. Cartomizers are cheap and often treated as disposables and they also are very beginner friendly. Personally though I’m not a huge carto vaper as I prefer to vape out of a clearomizer.

And clearomizers are similar to cartomizers but they have a bigger tank capacity and need to be refilled less often. I also seem to find I prefer the taste that I get off of clearomizers vs cartomizers too. And for this reason I’m vaping clearos 90% of the time.

And atomizers are technically inside of all e-cigarettes but often when you hear the word ‘atomizer’ or ‘atty’ in the vaping community what they will actually be referring to is a dripping atomizer.

Dripping atomizers are completely different again from cartomizers and clearomizers as they can only hold a few drops at a time and have to be continuously dripped into as you are vaping.

The up side though is that dripping atomizers give you some of the absolute best tastings vapes you’ll ever try in your life. And because you are only using a few drop at a time… you can swap and change your flavors around as much as you like (where as with cartomizers and clearomizers you are sort of ‘stuck’ with that flavour until the ejuice runs out).
