We spoke to Stephen from Conductive Labs, who introduced us to the *Terrain Synthesizer*, which is now in pre-production prototype after fullfilling its initial Kickstarter earlier this year.

Its an innovative instrument that turns traditional synthesis on its head with its three-dimensional approach to oscillators using a map-like structure where a path dictates the synthesizer's timbre based on images or mathematical topographies.

Stephen explained that you could morph and traverse different terrains, altering the sound dynamically with parameters like path size, rotation, and terrain type.

The Terrain Synthesizer is equipped with modulators for every parameter,  it supports four timbres, each with up to eight voices, allowing for complex, multi-layered patches and modulation options. The synthesizer can also import image terrains and traditional wavetables, enhancing its creative possibilities.
The voicing and presets have yet to be made, but the hardware and software is close to final with an anticipated list price of $1,199.
