Michael loves homemade pies made from fresh fruits from the garden. One great pie made from plums is called zwetschgendatschi. The original recipe originated from Bavaria, and it became very popular throughout the region. At the end of summer, every bakery in Austria and Bavaria offers zwetschgendatschi.

The recipe is very simple, and Majkl shows you in this video a step by step how to make this great pie.

Ingredients for a 30x40 cm pie:
Dough:
700 g all-purpose wheat flour
120 g sugar
120 g sunflower oil (you can also use 120 g melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
360 ml warm milk
1 egg (medium size)
40 g fresh yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
zest from one lemon

Fruit layer:
1 kg of plums (firm plums)
you can also use apricot, currants, apples, whichever seasonal fruit available

Crumbles:
300 g all-purpose wheat flour
300 g sugar
250 g butter (cold from the fridge)
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
