Train trip report on the Renfe Alvia from Madrid to Santiago de Compostela.

The Alvia is a high-speed train that is being used in many routes across all Spain. This particular version (S730) is hybrid, that means that it can circulate through the new electrified rail tracks but also on the old ones, thanks to its diesel generator.

In the upcoming years, the AVE will substitute this train, once the high-speed rail tracks will be available in all the route (currently, there are around 150-200 km without them).
