Set during the Joseon era, Hong Cheon Gi is a young and extremely talented painter. She is picked as the first female painter of the Dohwaseo (Korean Royal Academy of Painting). While at the Royal Academy of Painting, Hong Cheon Gi meets Ha Ram, an officer at the Seowoongwan, an office in charge of astronomy, geography, art of divination, and meteorology.

Ha Ram lost his sight due to a mysterious accident when he was younger. Despite Ha Ram’s calm and thoughtful exterior, there is a darker side to him and a dual personality to look out for.

Although Hong Cheon Gi finds herself attracted to Ha Ram, life in the palace will not be an easy one for the couple as they are surrounded by romantic entanglements and royal politics, including the cruel and power-hungry Prince Suyang (Kwak Si Yang) and the cute and free-spirited Prince Anpyeong (Gong Myung).

Who will sit on the throne? How will Hong Cheon Gi and Haram’s destiny unfold?
