Using CNC Machine To Make A DIY CNC Laser Attachment Solution

Описание к видео Using CNC Machine To Make A DIY CNC Laser Attachment Solution

Using Maker Store’s OutBack CNC machine we were able to create a quick DIY CNC Laser Attachment Solution for one of our customers.

The customer wanted to use Maker Store’s 15W 445nm Blue Laser Module with the OutBack CNC machine. Using Fusion 360 we designed the mounting plate that has holes at the bottom and slots at the top. The slots are designed to attach the Laser Module using M3 10mm Button Head Screws. The holes are designed to mount the assembly onto either the Maker Store Spindle Bracket or a 2060 V-Slot extrusion. The mounting plate also has 5mm chamfers at the edges to protect the user from any sharp cuts and give an aesthetic quality.

The plate can be mounted onto the Maker Store Spindle Bracket using M5 8mm Low Profile Screws. Since the mounting plate along with the Laser Module is attached to the spindle, it can easily be moved up and down by jogging the Z-Axis of the machine.

The material, feeds, speeds and depth of cut are listed below:

Material used: Al 5052 3mm thick sheet
End Mill used: 1 Flute Carbide End Mills – Up Cut For Aluminium/Soft Metals - No. 206
Feed Rate = 1500mm/min
Spindle Speed = 18000 RPM
Depth of cut per pass = 1mm
