How to create a 3-strand braid in macrame:

Since I seem to have embarked on a journey covering a few different types of braids, I thought I’d better include the basic 3-strand braid (or plait!)

I think if you have (or have ever had) long hair…or a kid with long hair…chances are you probably already know how to create this type of braid

But here it is for those who don’t know, or those who need a refresher 🙌

1. Start with a multiple of 3 cords. In this case I have 3 cords with 2 strands hanging down from each. Split the cords up into 3 sections (i.e. 2 strands in each section)
2. Bring the cords on the left across and over the middle cords.
3. Bring the cords on the right across and over the middle cords.
4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until the desired length is reached!

Easy peasy lemon squeezy 🍋 🙌
