This is a place that locals hope will remain hidden and protected, therefore I have only shared the general location for fellow rock hounds. Let the hunt begin and protect it as if it were your own backyard! At one time it was a major destination and many people came through here to enjoy a weekend fishing, but now the mountain road that the mimetolith can be found on is deteriorating back to nature and the fish ponds were filled with sand during the flood of 1969. The mountain road makes its terminus in Angelus Oaks. If you look for the creek be sure you know how to identify poison oak. This is a riparian environment, so it is not always a walk in the park, but for someone like me, I am used to navigating such places.
