Haculla Spring/Summer 2023 is all about restoring broken love. With all going on in the current cruel world, the only thing that can amend what has been destroyed are people. Haculla supports love, loving others and is hopefully devoted to making the world a better place through this art of expression. S/S23 introduces dusty pink as its core color, visually reflecting the warmth and neutrality the collection evokes. The brand taps into the famous archive of artist and founder Harif Guzman to be able to bring important selected pieces back to light. Through several pieces in the collection, you will find the paintings titled “Blonde” of a woman and “Beetle Juice” of a man, which were specifically chosen to represent beauty in people’s unique appearances. A new painting is incorporated of a smushed heart called “The Fragile” which Harif recently created abroad in Europe to express his feelings of being home and lovesick. The phrase “Still Pumpin’” was added to help tell the story of despite all, love will continue. While continuing the implementation of artisanal hand painted graphics, S/S23 takes this mastered technique to a whole new level. You will be able to find garments with full hand distressing and various hand painted finishes to dive even deeper into the brand’s DNA of being an original true artist brand. Each garment’s finishes are handcrafted by apprentices of Harif as well as local art students in Japan, making each offering a custom one-off. Through the collection, you will find a new glitched rendition of “Haculla” in many different formats such as 3D direct embroidery and hand painting. S/S23 introduces many new silhouettes for the brand such as a completely deconstructed denim x hoodie hybrid and twisted two in one hoodies. Unpredictable preppy garments are also incorporated such as a blazer, long sleeve henley polo shirts and pleated trousers with heavy hand artisanal paint finishings. Spray paint is showcased through this collection on crewnecks and tees for a more subtle branding approach. Haculla also explored laser burning this season while taking the infamous ‘One of a Kind’ all over print and crafting it into a wide range of denim, cotton and shirting silhouettes as well as french terry bucket hats. S/S23 visually invites all to our mission of spreading and mending love through art and self-expression.
