WW2 Color B-26 Marauders Over Germany

Описание к видео WW2 Color B-26 Marauders Over Germany

Fly back in time with this rare Kodachrome movie footage showing 9th Air Force Martin B-26 Marauder medium bombers of the 323rd Bomb Group flying missions to Germany in 1945 from their base at Airfield A-83 in the far north of France. Watch for a close-up of the Martin upper turret as the gunner traverses and elevates the twin .50-caliber machine guns. Interior views depict pilots in action; the bombardier's compartment, and a waist gun on a mount unique to the Marauder. The closing scenes capture a Marauder flying on one engine and air-starting the other, as well as lowering the landing gear. The look and feel of this vintage Army Air Forces color footage evokes the life and times of great airmen who flew combat sorties repeatedly to help win the war. Those memories grow ever farther back in time, yet are kept fresh by these color scenes.
