BMW 320 E36 Judd V8 Pure Sound at Festival of Speed!

The legendary BMW 320 E36 Judd of the unforgotten Georg Plasa was at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, after its surprise appearance last year. It's so emotional to see this car in action again and driven flatout by Jörg Weidinger, hillclimb competitor and Plasa's friend. And in this video you can enjoy Jörg's qualifying run from the inside of the car thanks to HillclimbFans, who kindly sent me and allowed me to use the footage.

This E36 started his life and hillclimb history as a BMW 320i which Georg perfected and modified over many years, applying the use of F1-derived technology and encouraging others European hillclimb teams to do the same. It's powered by a Judd KV 675 3.4-litre V8 engine, able to produce around 560hp at 10,200 rpm, and which was developed to be featured in Formula 3000 and Le Mans prototypes. Thanks to the use of lightweight components the car only weighs 895 kg. Even the aero package was developed and studied in a wind tunnel making the E36 Judd a proper monster.
