If you’re anything like me, then you’ve had the songs from Wicked: For Good on repeat since the second part premiered in theaters. We finally got to see the conclusion of an epic story, including the return of some classic fictional characters! Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, and Toto all embark on their adventure to reach the Emerald City and seek the Wizard, even as the Wicked Witch stands in their way. Of course, we all know the witch by a different name, and we’re not so quick to condemn Elphaba. Although it would be nice to have the two stories combine seamlessly, the old and the new stories make it nearly impossible. Today’s video will discuss where The Wizard of Oz meets Wicked and whether they’re better viewed as a linear story or two distinct alternatives.
