Philip Johnson – The Shame Of Liverpool (1980)

Описание к видео Philip Johnson – The Shame Of Liverpool (1980)

Philip Johnson was one of the earliest participants in the British independent cassette scene. Now a lost figure in the dark waters of early industrial music, he self-released more than 25 tapes between 1979 and 1981, for which he produced ethereal soundscapes and damaged electronics. One of these is 1980’s “Christmas Album”, a full hour of haunting sound collages, including the wonderfully weird “The Shame Of Liverpool”. After 1981, Johnson also released material under various pseudonyms, such as Ancient Regime, the Barringtons and Flower Perverts, and he may now be considered the absolute embodiment of early DIY.
