Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a look at this four leaf double eye spring with Dacromet finish for your 5000 pound trailer axle. Now, this double eye leaf spring acts as part of your trailer's suspension system by providing an attachment point for a 5000 pound axle. This is made from a sturdy steel construction and this is designed to flex to absorb road shock and provide a smooth ride, reducing wear and tear on your trailer. And it's going to ensure level ride on bumpy and uneven surfaces. Now, this leaf spring features a Dacromet finish that's going to offer superior rust and corrosion resistance over your typical leaf spring. So, this is going to be a great option for your boat trailers and trailers that are used in coastal areas or even on heavily treated roads.

The double eye leaf springs attach to hangers that are welded onto your trailer. One end of this spring will attach directly to the hanger with a suspension bolt, and the other end will attach to shackle straps that are suspended from a hanger. Those straps allow the spring to move and pivot so that it can better compensate for uneven pavement. Now, if you have a tandem or triple axle trailer, the shackle straps will be attached to the equalizer that connects multiple springs. Now, to ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance, leaf springs should always be replaced in pairs, and we do recommend installation by a professional. Now, in the eyes on each end, as you can see here, are pre-installed nylon bushings. The eye diameter with the bushing installed is 9/16 of an inch, and without the bushing, it's 11/16 of an inch. So again, this is a four leaf spring, as you can see here, with a leaf thickness of 3/8 of an inch. And again, it has a spring capacity of 2500 pounds and it is designed for your 5000 pound trailer axles.

And just measuring the length of the spring from center of eye to center of eye, we are sitting right at 25 1/4 inches. And the spring width is 1 3/4 inches.
