Last Sunday, we welcomed Rabbi Doug Alpert to our pulpit.

Rabbi Doug Alpert is the spiritual leader of Congregation Kol Ami- Kansas City’s non-affiliated, urban, progressive synagogue. He feels honored and blessed to be a part of a synagogue community that cares for each other, their community and their world.

Rabbi Alpert received his rabbinic ordination from the Academy for Jewish Religion-New York in 2012. He holds a Masters in Judaic Studies from the Siegal College of Jewish Studies, a Juris Doctor degree from the UMKC School of Law, and a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Affairs from the George Washington Univ.

On a more personal note, Rabbi Alpert loves to travel with his wife Fay on her adventures from the Amazon in Bolivia, to north of the Arctic Circle in December, to the Jordanian desert, to paragliding in Iceland. He runs marathons and is the father of three sons; Solomon, David and Isaac, and recently became a Zadie.

And he’s a dear friend and study partner of Pastor Holly.
