In this heartfelt elder storytelling session, Pat Swift from the St. Francis Community gently shares a story that teaches young children about the virtues we can learn from the eagle and the eagle feather. As shared by author Kevin Locke, Hunkpapa Band of the Lakota Sioux and Anishinabe, each feather on the eagle’s wing represents a value such as humility, bravery, or love, reminding us how to live with goodness and respect. This video is part of a series intended to support emotional literacy and healing for Native children, families, and educators.

This reading honors traditional storytelling as a way to teach children about difficult topics with compassion, care, and cultural connection.
