Canada's REVENGE is an entity instantly recognized as an early creator and or innovator within the now robust War Metal genre. Creator and nihilist J.Read describes the band as SUPERION ATTACK METAL! Regardless of genre or tags Dark Horizon Records was honored to release the prolific and groundbreaking first EP ATTACK.BLOOD.REVENGE in 2001. With this debut exploding into the underground REVENGE are responsible for starting its own sub-genre and is an innovative, original and esoteric monster. Founding member J. Read was also involved in the Cult Canadian attack styled War Metal band CONQUEROR. REVENGE however create an aural onslaught that continues in a similar vein not unlike that of the mighty CONQUEROR yet honing their musical barbaric onslaught to the point of extremity that can never be duplicated! Riffs so fucking brutal they exert an image in your mind of militant war machinery grinding and pulverizing YOU! Not for the weak or those seeking melodic or mood-setting black metal! REVENGE is the most extreme band in the world!

REVENGE has since released material through numerous underground labels eventually ending up signed to the long-running OSMOSE Productions France and now signed to SEASON OF MIST France. REVENGE has appeared at numerous worldwide festival dates and tours as well as an Australian tour with death/thrash legends CORONER. We were honored to support and promote this excellent band! By the time of Conqueror’s dissolution in the late 1990s, J. Read (Cremation, Conqueror, Revenge, Axis of Advance, Blood Revolt, Kerasphorus) had already established himself as the most devastating drummer in the extreme metal underground. Combining the menacing and chaotic fury of Read’s drumming and wrathful vocals with R. Forster’s sadistic guitar sound, Conqueror established a new standard of sonic violence. Conqueror was more than just a collection of songs, the band adopted an aesthetic and conceptual approach that defined an entirely new approach to the music. At the time, however, Conqueror’s approach was out of fashion and unpalatable for all but an elite faction of the underground. Following Conqueror’s untimely demise, Read pressed forward on his blasphemous deathmarch by forming Revenge, a project that has persisted now for nearly 15 years. With the first EP, “Attack.Blood.Revenge,” Read continued his assault in the name of Superion. This EP solidified Read’s approach. Focused and hostile, relentless and raw. Revenge’s matchless supremacist assault on this EP remains, after all these years, one of the most vicious displays of frenzied Bestial Black Death. While Revenge’s style and lineup have changed and evolved since the release of this EP, all of the elements that characterized the band at its inception remain intact even today.
