I show an alternative strat for collecting SL In the Deep Freeze in 0x. For convenience, I just hacked in the moneybags, but it should be possible to pull this off in practice using moneybag duplication.

Backstory: Back in 2013 when I had been doing the initial ABC strat for every star in the game, I had a difficult time working out what the best strat would be for SL In the Deep Freeze. Based on the records at http://www.curtisbright.com/sm64/abc/, it was clear that this star could be done in 1 A press, but I was aiming for 0 A presses. My first thought was to use the moneybags as a staircase in order to reach the top of the ice, and then simply fall into the star. But before I actually got around to TASing this, I realized that using shell hyper speed would be a much simpler, quicker, and easier strat, and so that's what I ended up doing:    • SM64 - In the Deep Freeze - 0x A Presses  . Of course, this meant that there was no longer any need for my moneybag staircase strat, since it would just take longer to set up and be much more difficult to execute. Nevertheless, I thought that the moneybag strat would have been cool and wanted to prove to myself that it was in fact possible, and so I decided to TAS it anyway just so that there would be a record of it. So, here it is.

Worth noting is that bouncing on a moneybag at the peak of its standard jump doesn't let Mario go high enough to reach the top of the ice. Instead, a special trick is needed in order to get a moneybag to jump higher than usual, which is precisely what happens in the video for the final moneybag that I bounce on.
