Indian Army Launches ‘Seemaon ke Rakshak, Gaon ke Saathi’ Outreach in Arunachal Pradesh

TUTING, August 12 — The snow-clad frontiers of Upper Siang witnessed a unique bond of camaraderie this week as the Indian Army’s Spear Corps brought its two-day outreach programme, ‘Seemaon ke Rakshak, Gaon ke Saathi’, to the border town of Tuting. The initiative, held from August 11–12, was aimed at blending patriotism with development under the theme ‘Seema Surakshit, Gaon Viksit’ — Secured Border, Developed Villages.

The event drew students, youth, women, veterans, and local entrepreneurs, offering a range of activities that mixed education with inspiration. Students were given a rare chance to explore the Army’s drone simulator lab and get hands-on with weapons and equipment. A highlight was the virtual interaction with drone technology expert Mr. Milind Raj, who shared real-world applications of drones in both civilian and defence sectors.

The outreach also served as a platform to share the Army’s recent achievements, including the much-discussed Operation Sindoor. Motivational stalls explained career opportunities in the armed forces through NDA, CDS, TES, and the Agniveer scheme.

Local entrepreneur Ngong Tsering praised the Skill Development stall, which showcased business prospects in crops, spices, and bamboo products.
