(Reporter: "To what extent movies, cinema can make it possible that a woman like Kamala Harris could become president of the United States?")
Weaver: "I love that question."
(Reporter: "The question is.")
Weaver: "Yes, I understand, but I love that question because we're all so excited about, Kamala. And to think for one moment that my work would have anything to do with her rise makes me very happy, actually, because it's true. I have so many women who come and thank me. Sorry. I need my vodka. See I'm too weak too. Thank you. It's been difficult since 2016. You know, we're all very grateful for her."

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Sigourney Weaver, actor - on the strength of her character in "Alien," Ripley:
"My character was a person, not a woman, and they are two of the very few writers who can write a script where it's just a person and she doesn't, you don't see her having to be girly or womanly or any of these other ideas, which are all great. Women can be everything. But I got to play really, what I realized now, was a kind of every person part. She's all of us. She is what you become when you have to find the ingenuity and don't even have time to to be, brave or anything else. And I think of the women all over the world who are on the front lines of, climate change and all these, crises. It's the women who are taking care of their, families, of their children, who are often doing the work that, they're on the front lines. I'm always asked why I play strong women, and I always think it's such a weird question because I just play women and women are strong and women don't give up. You know why? We can't. We have to do it."

8. SOUNDBITE (English) Sigourney Weaver, actor - on acting roles being created for older women:
"Suddenly, I think, suddenly they decided somehow in the world that older women could actually be, play interesting characters and started writing a lot of older women characters. Suddenly we stopped being a joke and a mother in law, and we started to be real people. Because actually a lot of our audience are real people."

11. SOUNDBITE (English) Sigourney Weaver, actor - on receiving the Golden Lion for lifetime achievement:
"I love Italian cinema. I think we were watching, my daughter just got married, and the first film I think they watched with us was 'Divorce Italian Style,' which I thought was an interesting choice. But anyway, we were just mesmerized. These are timeless films, and I hope somehow we'll get to the kind of industry that can still produce these filmmakers and these films that we can - the Marvel, everything. Fine. It should be. Everybody should be doing what they want. But I don't know that we have enough of what Italian film means and gives us, I think we need it. So get busy, Italian filmmakers, and I'm available."
