Evil West revolves around a protagonist named Jesse, who possesses as a vampire hunter, equipped with several powerful firearms. He also has access to various melee attacks through a specialized gauntlet capable of accumulating electrical energy. and is part of a secret organization called the "Rentier Institute."

This group is dedicated to fighting against a growing threat of enemies include Sanguisuge A.K.A "Ticks", vampires that have accepted the "Gift of Change" found in blood and prey on humanity, werewolves, and other grotesque monstrosities that roam the wild west.
