DEADSTICK PERCH with a JAW JACKER can be highly effective during certain types of winter ice fishing days for the Jumbo Perch. Today the biggest perch all took the 7 mm Tungsten Jig on the Jaw Jacker instead of taking the active presentation even though they were right beside eachother.

Where you are allowed two lines a dead stick can come in very handy beside your main jigging hole.

Use a more aggressive pattern in your Jigging hole like a spoon to attract the attention of panfish in the area. If they are not willing to take the more active bait then they will have option two.

On the deadstick presentation use a tungsten jig whether 3 to 7 mm in size tipped with bait. You can use @circle_tackle DEAD 36 rod for this or even utilize the stationary JAW JACKER.

I tried this out and it worked amazing. In this video you'll see how the dead stick jaw jacker presentation caught the majority of the bigger perch that day.

So while the small ones were busy chasing the spoon the JUMBOS could just slide on in and eat the tungsten jig and shrimp. This was a 7 mm Poker faced Chartreuse Jig made by ‪@circletackle6935‬

Also when you move holes you can leave the Jaw jacker on the hot spot so if the fish come back around it will let you know when they are back in the area.

Utilize your extra line ice fishing... definitely worth it and you will catch more fish.

It may take a little longer to set up, but the rewards are always well worth it.
