Описание к видео No Nails, No Hammering - Wood Stud Framing With Screws - Basement Remodeling Project

I'm using wood 2x4 studs to frame out my unfinished basement and I am NOT using nails or a hammer to build any of the framing.

I am NOT a professional carpenter, which is exactly why I hate using a hammer and nails. They're loud and imprecise when I use them, I tend to bend the nails or get the angle wrong or hurt myself when I go swinging a two pound hammer around my fingers. Instead I'm putting up wood framing for basement walls using a battery powered electric drill and some construction screws.

I prefer screws, especially for applications that don't need nails (like building framing in a basement. Nails are good in some cases (framing out a house is much faster with nails) but I'm taking my time and going at a reasonable pace with construction screws.

Basically all I do is cut the wood stud to the correct length (a little tight makes it easier to install) and bang it into where it has to go. Then I use a pre-drill the holes at a diagonal angle on the wide face of the stud to attach it to the top plate or bottom plate. Then I simply drive in the screws with my electric drill.

It's easy, it gives me time to make sure my studs are straight and level and it saves my fingers from getting smashed with a hammer.
