Cradle Song - Scottish Pipe Marches "Invergordon's welcome to Elizabeth II" / "Wee Man From Skye"

Описание к видео Cradle Song - Scottish Pipe Marches "Invergordon's welcome to Elizabeth II" / "Wee Man From Skye"

On the last day of my staying with family in Lecce, Italy. After loading up all the van for our long drive back to Aberdeen I managed to squeeze in a few tunes on the communal stair of my inlaws house. They have a beautiful old house in the historical centre of Lecce. The building has many stories to tell.
The tunes are all Scottish, following on from my last few videos of James Scott Skinner tunes, the first tune in this video is 'The Cradle song' written by Skinner to ease a bairn to sleep. The Scottish Pipe Marches are "Invergordon's Welcome to Elizabeth II" Written by John D. Burgess. MBE (1934-2005) from Aberdeen. The next March is the "Man From Skye" aka "The Wee Man from Skye" Written by Pipe major Donald MacLeod (1916 - 1982) of Lewis.

The accordion is Saltarelle Clifden.
