Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib)
The Golden Temple, located in Amritsar, India, is the holiest gurdwara (Sikh place of worship). Shaheedan Sahib Baba Deep Singh Gurdwara:
This gurdwara is dedicated to Baba Deep Singh, a revered Sikh warrior and martyr who was martyred in 1757 while defending the Golden Temple from Afghan invaders. Baba Deep Singh is celebrated for his valor and sacrifice, especially for his legendary battle where, despite being mortally wounded, he continued to fight while holding his severed head. The Gurdwara Shaheedan Sahib stands as a tribute to his bravery and is a place of pilgrimage and inspiration for Sikhs.
