The production team heads back trackside for another day of filming trains. For this trip, we headed to Franklin Park, Illinois on the Canadian Pacific Elgin Subdivision near CP Bensenville Yard. Throughout the day, we drove between Mannheim station and Franklin Park station to get a variety of shots. Little did we know that we would see two different Norfolk Southern Heritage Units sitting in Bensenville. One of the two NS Heritage Units that we spotted is one that we happen to see before. Meanwhile, the weather was beautiful especially around lunch hour when it was reaching the mid-70’s! What made the day a lot better was the variety of trains that we got throughout the day. At the end of the day, we realized we chose the best day to come to Franklin Park since we were able to catch one Norfolk Southern Heritage Unit that has yet to be photographed changing our Norfolk Southern Heritage Unit Scorecard from 8/20 to 9/20. Overall, it was a very good day trackside and we enjoyed every minute of it. Coming up next is a video filled with Metra’s Special Painted Units including a possible video taken from a private event this upcoming weekend.
