We had a colony where the queen was slow to begin laying eggs, and then laid a very spotty brood pattern. It was a problem with the queen and we can fix it by requeening.

We first removed the queen using a queen catching pipe, SEE THIS VIDEO:

Then we placed a screen on top of the box and added another box on top of that. In the top box, we placed the frames from a nucleus colony with a newly emerged virgin queen. We will allow the two colonies to become acquainted through the screen, and will remove the screen in a few weeks.
