Solo Golgoroth - King's Fall Raid [Destiny 2]

At last, a new solo that doesn't involve RNG! This was actually pretty fun to do. It's not the most difficult at all, but enjoyable none the less. For whatever reason you can deal damage with abilities to Golgoroth without obtaining the gaze, although it does have to be during the period of time while the orb is active (this is achieved by clearing enough enemies to spawn the orb). After that it's just using the small window to deal as much damage as possible, which is the usual stacking Wormgods and One-Two Punch.

As for the wipe totem that normally fills up depending on how many orbs you didn't use, it only counts as one per phase as you technically don't start the damage phase by grabbing the gaze here. As such, you'd theoretically have 6 damage phases like this before you wipe. Although realistically due to the timing and the 10 minute enrage, you're more likely to only have 5 phases to work with.

It took me a little under 3 hours, most of which was finding ways to make the Thrall and hitting Golgoroth with the shield bash more consistent. The shield bash can be a little awkward, but if you let him slam first it becomes pretty consistent with hitting. Similarly, luring as many of the Thrall into a barricade before jumping into the pit helps keep them there, making the damage stacks a lot more consistent too.

Overall a fun challenge to do, even it was unexpected one out of all of the bosses. Solo Oryx needs some sort of massive damage glitch to make work, the Solo King's Fall entrance needs a way to keep the timer from going down after dunking one orb (similar to the D1 strategy). All the usual relic dupes or animation cancels don't work, so something new will have to be found. At least one encounter is doable so far though.
