Pattern magazines are a bit intimidating because of the way the instructions are explained, but it is worth it when you see the results.
I wanted to use some of my grandma’s old magazines and I went for the oldest one I have with is from August 1976. And even though it is August, the closest thing to a summer dress for me, was a pinafore, which the made in velvet but I changed it for cotton. It’s a simple dress with buttons, a zipper, pockets and facings. I had problems to insert the zipper because I didn’t know exactly where to and the instructions don’t say anything about the pockets either; but with intuition, I managed to do it!!
