This presentation was made at the Fifth Annual Conference on Native American Nutrition on May 25, 2022, in Prior Lake, Minnesota. This annual conference series brings together tribal officials, researchers, practitioners, funders and others to discuss the current state of Indigenous and academic scientific knowledge about Native nutrition, dietary health, and food science, and identify new areas of work. It was sponsored by the University of Minnesota Healthy Foods Healthy Lives Institute and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC).
