Welcome to a trek that pushes the boundaries of climbing, an adventure that begins on a strenuous yet ordinary path from Pont-de-Nant and heads toward the Plan Névé Hut. Don't be deceived, because from there the route transforms into a challenging alpine trail ( marked blue-white-blue ) that takes us to the famous Col des Chamois Nord. From there, we descend through a lunar landscape, navigating what remains of the Paneirosse glacier to reach Col des Essets, before returning to Pont-de-Nant via the La Vare valley.

This is an itinerary to undertake only in good weather, best experienced in the direction I will show you, and definitely not suitable for those who are less than confident on their feet.

It's often said that one should never venture alone into the mountains, especially on T4 and T5 level trails like this one and it's true ! But what happens when your passion for adventure is too strong, and nobody is available to share the exhaustion, risk, and fear with you ? Do you give up ? Abandon your dreams ? Never !

As is often the case, this is another solo experience for me. Without a companion to rely on, every risk is amplified, and every decision is solely yours. Being alone means you don't share your fears with anyone, but in this solitude, I discover a sense of self-esteem and freedom.

Don't view this video merely as a travel diary but as a warning. The mountain is magnificent, yet it demands respect, for it can become relentless in an instant. This video will provide you with a clear idea of what to expect from a rather challenging trek like this one a must-see just behind the Alps of Valais in Vaud. Make sure you are prepared, both physically and mentally, before embarking on these alpine trails that can suddenly turn severe and from which it may be really difficult to return. If possible, never go alone !

But if circumstances force you into solitude and the call of the mountain is too strong to be ignored... well, I hope this video can guide you on what to expect in these simultaneously desolate and magical places. THANK YOU ! Giò
