My initial thought when creating this song was that sometimes life does not seem fair. It is really hard at times.

I actually had much of this song in my mind but could not put it all together for many months. Then one day I went on a hike and got stung by a bee right before the hike, and then again while hiking. I have always known that I was allergic to bee stings, but this one was different. My throat got scratchy pretty quickly. I started to have a hard time breathing. But I persisted and completed the hike (Tinker Cliffs!). Many of the words of this song came from that day.

I have struggled myself with medical conditions, but still count myself lucky to have what I have in life and be able to do what I do. I am not perfect by any means (milk and honey ain't my name). Life tends to seem to knock me down again and again, but I find a way to get back up and be stronger for it afterwards. AND, when I share my load with others, and help others to get through their troubles, everything seems to get just a little bit easier. The Hive is my world, my family and friends. I get through life WITH my hive.

That is the POWER OF THE HIVE.
