To clarify, the temperatures in this video are drawn from the US standard atmosphere, but as this only extends up to the mesosphere, in the thermosphere temperatures are only approximate. Also, features are displayed at approximate altitudes - for example the tropopause can be between 8km and 15km above the surface. I chose to simplify this to 10km as a representative height, and to not over-complicate the video!

This video asks where is the top of the atmosphere, considering the different layers in the atmosphere such as the troposphere, the stratosphere, the mesosphere, the thermosphere, the exosphere, and even the geocorona. Between the Earth's surface and outer space we travel through the atmosphere, meeting cumulus clouds, the aurora borealis, noctilucent clouds, and even the international space station. This video was inspired by channels like Kurzgesagt - In a Nutshell, Veritasium, Crash Course, and SciShow.
