Making My First Watch - The Wheel Train Bridge Vlog #19

Описание к видео Making My First Watch - The Wheel Train Bridge Vlog #19

In this watchmaking vlog episode 19.

I cut the wheel train bridge for my hand made modified Swiss made ETA 6498 watch movement. I begin to file the rough shape profile of the wheel train bridge.

I use the Seitz Jewelling Tool which is a staple tool for any watchmaker. This allows me to ream the hole to size and press the watch jewels into place. The watch jewels are a hard surface which allows the harden steel watch wheel pivots to rotate in, with the least amount of wear to occur within the watch. As there are no ball bearings in a mechanical watch.

The third, fourth and escape wheel jewels in the ETA 6498 movement use standard diameter Seitz jewels.

I move on to testing the wheels within my newly hand made watch and give a brief explanation into the side and end shake of watch wheels within a mechanical watch.

Thanks for watching, happy watchmaking.
