Описание к видео Shopping at Farmer's Market

RECAP:
The end of summer brings back-to-school blues for some, but for us, it brings produce so flavorful, our tastebuds can hardly stand it! Today, we're taking you on a trip to the Downtown Ames Farmer's Market (in Iowa). While it isn't the biggest or most diverse market we've ever seen, it provides shoppers with an array of fresh, organic, and colorful selections ranging from produce to meats to flowers and coffee!

Some of our favorite finds from this trip:
PEPPERS:
Peppers are perfection this time of year - especially if you're looking to add a little spice to something like a breakfast burrito or tacos. To take your food from mild to HOT, leave a few seeds from the pepper in when you cook.

BEETS:
One of our favorite super-foods. Beets are so great for the heart and really compliment a nice, dark leafy salad - especially when paired with a light dressing of olive oil and S&P and a bit of goat cheese. Beets are also brilliant for juicing.

CARROTS:
Another great one for juicing. Roasting these beauties also makes for a wonderful side dish to chicken or fish fresh from the grill!

PURPLE GREEN BEANS:
Toss these with olive oil or coconut oil and a dash of S & P then serve on the side of a bun-less burger or enjoy with your morning omelette.

PURPLE POTATOES:
These colorful cuties are a tasty way to jazz up any plate. They're slightly sweeter in flavor than regular potatoes, but not as sweet as yams or sweet potatoes. We like to dice these, fry with pastured butter, and throw them in with a breakfast burrito or combine with quinoa to make a filling quinoa salad.

GARLIC:
Garlic is not only great in just about everything, but it's majorly medicinal. Keep on hand and swallow a few raw cloves if you feel yourself coming down with a bug.

PLUMS:
Plum sauce or plum compote is the current obsession at Revolution Food HQ. We've been adding it to roasted eggplant burgers...so good that when we're not eating it, we're dreaming about it.
