Caribbean Medical School 101 | The Truth And Tips From A Former Student

Medical school in the Caribbean has always been one of those polarizing topics that really gets people talking. The fact of the matter is that many students will go down to the Caribbean with low GPAs and MCAT scores, only to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars and drop out after the first year... but this isn't the entire story! Many other med students will go on to graduate from a Caribbean program and will match into a Canadian or US based residency program after completing their MD. For this video I interviewed a Canadian doctor who graduated from SABA university in the Caribbean and then matched into family medicine after applying through both CaRMS and ERAS. They completed the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 as well as the MCCQE 1 and NAC OSCE in Canada. Hopefully this video helps shed some light on the IMG process for students looking to study internationally - please ask any and all questions that you'd like a better explanation on :)
