The Script Residency of the Catalan Film Academy and Europa Creativa Desk - MEDIA Catalunya organized a conference with Cristian Mungiu, Romanian screenwriter, producer and film director, which took place on May 30, at SGAE Barcelona.

Considered one of the most important exponents of the New Wave of Romanian cinema, Cristian Mungiu, screenwriter, producer and film director, has won multiple awards at the Cannes Film Festival, including the Palme d'Or in 2007 with '4 Months , 3 weeks and 2 days', the awards for best screenplay and best actress in 2012 with 'Beyond the Hills', as well as for best direction in 2016 with 'The exams'.

His last film, R.M.N. (2022), also competed at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. All of his films share a marked thematic and stylistic tendency, and have been funded by Creative Europe MEDIA Distribution.

Cristian Mungiu offered a masterclass that allowed us to see first-hand his creative process, the evolution of his cinematography, his cinematographic style, as well as his sources of inspiration. At the end of the session, the audience had the opportunity to ask him questions.
