A serious issue has been discovered in the NVIDIA RTX 50 series graphics cards from Gigabyte. Users have noticed that the thermal pads begin to leak over time, affecting models such as the AORUS GeForce RTX 5080 MASTER ICE 16G. The substance, which is supposed to cool the components, instead exposes memory chips, raising concerns about potential overheating during extended use.

Gigabyte Tries to Reassure Customers
The company admitted that early production batches may have used too much thermal paste. Later, the amount was reduced. However, Gigabyte denies that the issue could lead to overheating. Despite this, new evidence casts doubt on the safety of the design.

Users Share Worrying Photos
A forum user named remekra from TechPowerUP shared images clearly showing thermal material dripping off the chips. His graphics card is installed vertically, causing the thermal compound to flow downward and expose the memory. He notes that the card still works for now, but he plans to use it until it overheats or fails. He also warns other owners with vertical setups to be cautious.

Gigabyte has not released any further statements. Meanwhile, the community questions the transparency and reliability of the company’s response.
