In this video, I'll show you how to make a quick stir fry with Korean rice cakes. The recipe put itself together in my head when I saw the garaetteok on the shelf in the Chinese supermarket. The rice cakes are like little tender, chewy pillows! They're made from rice, so a great alternative for people who are avoiding gluten, or even just those who are looking for something other than basic rice and noodles.

They're traditionally used in tteokbokki ; a Korean dish of rice cakes simmered in a spicy sauce. I enjoyed them so much that at some point in the future, I'm going to have a go at making the Korean rice cakes from scratch, and also making a vegan tteokbokki!

Korean Rice Cakes and a Stir Fry Ingredients:
1 tbl Black Beans in Chili Oil
225g (7.93oz) Garaetteok (Korean Rice Cakes)
¼ tsp Salt (in rice cake water)

Stir Fry Ingredients:
1 medium Red Onion
5 leaves of Napa Cabbage (Chinese Leaf)
50g (½ cup) Edamame Beans
1 tbl Garlic & Ginger Chili Sauce
1 tbl Kicap Manis
1 tbl Light Soy Sauce

These are often the 1st time that I’ve tried a recipe, and I’ll talk you through why I’m using the ingredients and what I think happened when things go wrong.
