BRITISH WWII CIVIL DEFENSE FILM "A NEW FIRE BOMB" INCENDIARIES 28132

Описание к видео BRITISH WWII CIVIL DEFENSE FILM "A NEW FIRE BOMB" INCENDIARIES 28132

Created by Britain's Ministry of Information in 1942, this film describes the "new" incendiary bombs being used by the Luftwaffe -- one that contains an explosive device that will go off a few minutes after the bomb has landed. (Presumably, this innovation was intended to kill civilian firefighters responding to the bombing.)

The film also provides information about methods of defense regarding these bombs and how to put out the fires while protecting oneself against the possible explosion.

In dramatic reenactments, wardens and civilians are warned to keep away from bombs that have fallen in the street. Various methods are shown for attacking bombs that have fallen in houses. The film demonstrates ways of applying water while taking advantage of the protection of brick walls. The film was released in the United States with an added message from James M. Landis, national director of the U.S. Office of Civilian Defense in 1942-1943.
