Spring Nights at Wilderness State Park.

I have been planning this type of shot out for over 1 year. Theorizing it to be possible.

Taking 2 different types of milky way arch panos, winter and spring, in the same night and blending together in a fill 360⁰ panoramas

In my opinion, this is one of the hardest compositions to put together in all of Milky way Landscape photography.

This double milky way arch panorama can only be done for about 2 weeks of the entire year if you get the shot all on one night.

It requires

Little light pollution

A completely clear night ALL NIGHT or at least clear after sunset to the west and clear to the east before sunrise.

Can only be done during the new moon week in March and April

Very good panorama stitching programs

At least Intermediate knowledge with layer making in Photoshop.

How did I plan this out?

I checked photo pills for the milky way elevation and the times the milky way arch would be about the same for the Winter Milky way arch to the west and Spring milky way Arch the the east. 10pm and 4am.

I chose wilderness state park as my location from light pollution maps showing it being bortle 2.

I checked the moon phase to make sure the moon would not interfere with the shot at the times I needed to shoot.

I made sure the times I needed to shoot the photos were in astronomical darkness and not twilight.

I arrived at the location about 1 hour before sunset to scout out my location and find a spot that represented the essence of wilderness state park.

My tripod stayed in the same place from blue hour all the way until my spring milk way arch pano was done until about 445 am
