I've spent the last week working away from home and struggling to get my work done on a locked down windows laptop with a dodgy 4g connection.

Whilst struggling to get stuff done, it struck me that one of the tools I use all the time on windows is the windows snipping tool. So I thought...
wouldn't it be interesting to see what alternatives to this really useful tool do we have on Linux?

I'm familiar with scrot of course, and occasionally the xfce screenshot tool, but very little else.

So I went off and did a few searches and came up with a range of alternatives.

In this video I do a very quick look at programmes such as shutter, spectacle and flameshot - all of which do the job wonderfully.
