Shadow Reading and …Listening Skill Practice
Follow along and repeat after me for English Pronunciation and English Fluency.
(Shadow reading is an English fluency strategy designed to help the non native speaker develop English fluency. As you listen to my voice, please repeat what you hear me say.
At the end of each section, I will read the section with natural pauses. You should use this time to try and summarize what I have said.
Continue to practice with this Shadow Reading Series until you reach the level of speaking with English pronunciation and fluency.

ROBOTS HELPS CHILDREN
A Robot for the Autism Behavioral Intervention program has been designed. The Robot will be able to help people with autism. Children between the ages of 3 and 18 will be able to be more social. With improved social skills, the children will be able to resolve issues such as conflicts and bullying.
It is believed that the robots will boost children´s social skills through role play. With such activities this will reduce anxiety in a predictable and structured manner.
There are some people with autism that experience lack of motivation for interacting with others. They can be hypersensitive to sensations to movement, and sounds such as human voices and facial expressions.
Robots have been introduced to more than 1,200 children and the feedback from the parents has been positive. The parents have said that their children are much more active and are using better social skills in life.
Some of the children have improved speaking skills and some have even started forming sentences and asking simple questions as a form of engagement with others.

VOCABULARY
AUTISM: a neurological disorder which affects a person’s ability to communicate and interact easily with others
ROLE PLAY: pretending to be someone else, especially as a part of training or learning a new skill
SENSATION: the ability to feel or sense something
